Off the shores of Wisconsin, in Lake Superior, are the Apostle Islands, in Chequamegon Bay. The best known, Madeleine Island, is the site of an old Indian Cemetery. The shorelines of the Apostle Islands are rimmed with sandstone rocks that resemble the half-submerged faces of Indians and traders who once paddled these channels, in their canoes. This is a two-plate etching, two colors on each plate.
