The setting for this etching is Hennepin Avenue Methodist Church in Minneapolis, MN. A stairway led behind the organ to the choir loft, and then up another flight that went straight up to a door. Playing hooky from the church service one October evening, my friend and I snuck up those stairs, pushed open the heavy green door and found ourselves on the roof of the Sunday School wing of the church.
